On The Watch “It’s All About The NBA-Who’s On Top?”

The NBA-Who’s on Top?

We are officially at the Quarter mark of this year’s shortened NBA Season and although we are still going through a Worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, the players from both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference have all managed to keep their morals up and  stay upbeat while entertaining us with some thrilling games.

The struggles of the unexpected circumstances have affected every team somehow in some ways but throughout the challenges, some teams have risen to the occasion while some unexpected teams have faltered trying to keep up.

The Philadelphia 76ers are taking claim of the No. 1 Spot on the Eastside for the time being with a modest start of 17-7 record. Under the guidance of new head coach Doc Rivers, the 76ers seem to have found the right leader to help elevate this team to Championship calibre. The Milwaukee Bucks have had some tough losses to date but still maintain a respected 15-8 record. The Boston Celtics have actually had to postpone a few games due to Covid-19 protocol but still managed a reasonable 12-9 record. With the latest acquisition of James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets who stand at 14-11 record, the fire power has just dramatically increased but only time will tell how well this version of the “Big 3” Kyrie, Kevin and James actually gel together. While the Indiana Pacers 12-11 record, the Atlanta Hawks 11-12 record, and the New York Knicks 11-13 are playing musical chairs between themselves, it has been the poor start of our Canadian team the Toronto Raptors 10-13 record and the Miami Heat 8-14 record that has been the most surprising to me so far.

The Utah Jazz lead by Donovan Mitchell is marginally taking claim of the No. 1 Spot on the Westside with their own impressive start of 18-5 record. Them boys have shown some serious growth and maturity in their steady play so far at both ends of the court. The defending Champions the Los Angeles Lakers 18-6 record and the Los Angeles Clippers 17-7 both have picked up where they left off last year and could easily steal that No. 1 Spot on any given day. That being said the Phoenix Suns 12-9 record have kept things very interesting. With Chris Paul now running the point this squad has upped their competitiveness to 100% at both ends of the floor. As for the San Antonio Spurs 12-10 record, the Denver Nuggets 12-10 record, the Portland Trail Blazers 12-10 record and the Golden State Warriors 12-11, it’s a toss-up from this point on. The Western Conference teams are all capable of putting up some serious win streaks together that could set the whole Western standings into a roller-coaster game by game. Real Talk!

Stay locked in and appreciate this attention-grabbing and unpredictable NBA Season.

The NBA Season 2020/2021

The NBA Season is set to start this upcoming Tuesday December 22, 2020 but with 10 games shorter than the previous seasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic still looming over the World.

So many things are going to be different and unpredictable for this upcoming season but one thing is for sure, the Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to repeat as Champions regardless of the obstacles ahead. The Lakers’ squad is still well-intact and well-built for the long haul. As for the Los Angeles Clippers, they may have fallen short in the Playoffs last season but redemption will be their motivation throughout this season. The Houston Rockets are an uncertainty right now considering they have done some major changes starting with their front office and the coaching staff and their star player, James Harden, looking for a way out of the city. Assuming Harden’s indecision to still run with the team, only time will tell how they will look as the season progresses. The Western Conference will still be competitive as usual with the strong play coming from the Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and let’s not forget The Golden State Warriors who may still have a say in the Western standings, – they are not done yet in my eyes.

The Eastern Conference is steadily improving with major players changing conferences to help balance the forces. The Milwaukee Bucks fell short once again at reaching the Finals but have managed to secure their MPV player Giannis Antetokounmpo to an extended contract giving them another opportunity at the task at hand, an NBA Title. With a few added pieces to the team, things could be looking up for them. The Miami Heat shocked the league last season when they worked their way to the NBA Finals. They showed they belong and plan on getting it going right back where they left off. The Brooklyn Nets will be looking for a “Takeover” type season with a healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving leading the pack along with a new coaching staff to draw up the winning format. Our own Canadian team the Toronto Raptors are still in the running and still have the ability to stay competitive with any team from any conferences. The Philadelphia 76ers have done some revamping with their team and the coaching staff in the hope of changing their future outcome. Let’s see how everything unfolds throughout the season. The Boston Celtics is still a major player with a proven squad that can definitely upset the apple tree once they get going. They are a proven squad that can definitely disrupt the standings in the Eastern Conference. As for the Indiana Pacers, the Washington Wizards, the Charlotte Hornets, the Detroit Pistons, the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic, the jury is still out on what they can bring to the table.

We are entering the unknown with this year NBA Season. There is no script on how things will evolve and for that alone we should all tune in this Tuesday night December 22, 2020 and be part of another roller-coaster type NBA Season 2020/2021.

The NBA-Who’s On Top?

We are at the Quarter mark for this year NBA Season and in a surprising fashion The Boston Celtics are the ones sitting at the top for the moment with a 20-4 record. Now considering losing Gordon Haywood to a frightening fracture of his left knee, I personally thought this season was going to be a wrap but Damn was I wrong cause them kats over there are balling out of their minds. Cleveland has regrouped as of late and has gotten back on track by winning 11 games in row to bring them back up to a respective 16-7 record. It’s still very early in the season but I’m enjoying how the rest of the Eastern Conference is actually competing right now. Teams are definitely battling it out with no clear cut easy marks.

Although the Golden State Warriors are the Defending Champs and still the team to beat, the number one spot in the West at the moment belongs to the Houston Rockets with a 17-4 record over the Golden State’s 17-6 record. It’s a very close margin that Houston is hoping to maintain for as long as possible but real talk Warriors have yet to turn on the “Heat” and when they do the Western Conference might be in for a hell of a treat. Houston is balling and Harden is playing at another MVP type year once again. They are definitely looking like a team that could give the Warriors some problems along with the steady play of the Spurs 15-7 record as usual but only time will tell cause there are still lots of ball games to be played.
Injuries to various teams have hit the Western Conference in a big way, slightly changing the landscape over there. Definitely making things interesting so stay tuned in to all the action going around.

On The Watch “It’s All About NBA PLAYOFFS 2016”

This NBA Season will be cemented in the History Books as one of the Best Season ever played. REAL TALK! We’ve witness a Living Legend Kobe Bryant walk away from the Game on his own terms with a “BANG” on Wednesday April 13, 2016.

Kobe blessed us by scoring an astonishing 60 points in a Lakers win in his Final NBA Show out. REAL TALK! 20 years of greatness with one Team in the Los Angeles Lakers, 5 NBA Championships, 1 Season MVP, and the Lakers All-Time Scoring Leader. The Black Mamba to me is the closes player to be matched to the Greatest Player in Michael Jordan. REAL TALK! You will be missed Kobe.

The Golden State Worriers have also cemented their names once again in the History Books by dethroning the record-setting Chicago Bulls of 95/96, doing them one game better by finishing the Season with a New NBA record of (73-9). Unbelievable!! These guys don’t only own the West but the entire League. They have proven to be the Team to beat in order to get to the top of the food chain and has the No. 1 Seed in The Playoffs, taking them out will not be an easy task.

Golden State’s Nemesis in the West is non other then The San Antonio Spurs (67-15). The Team is resilient, well grounded and may just have the right tools to upset the Defending Champs. That being said we can’t overlook the strong play of The Oklahoma City Thunder cause these Kats are playing with a chip on there shoulders big enough to push them over the edge and into that No. 1 slot when all is said and done. REAL TALK!

On the East the No. 1 Seed belongs to The Cleveland Cavaliers (57-25) as expected but right behind them stands our Team from Up North The Toronto Raptors (56-26) Edged up and Battle ready to hopefully be part of the Final Dance come June?

The entire Eastern Conference stepped up their play this year REAL TALK! None of the series will be a cakewalk for any of the Playoffs Team this go around. This year Playoffs are bound to shake up The League in a positive way. Tune in this Saturday April 16, 2016 and don’t miss the Action of the 2016 Playoffs.

On The Watch “It’s All About NBA PLAYOFFS CONFERENCES SEMIFINALS 2016 “

With the first round officially over, we can now focus on the second round of interesting match ups to come. Our team from Up North, The Toronto Raptors are finally moving forward and looking to “Ball Up” with The Miami Heat while The Atlanta Hawks will be having a deja vu moment once again in doing battle with The Cleveland Cavaliers.

The bad blood between the two is serious so we can definitely anticipate a heated series to see which Team will be battling it out to meet in the Eastern Conference. Some Western Conference Teams have had some serious setback; injuries once again have derailed some promising Teams of exploring their full potential, The L.A. Clippers suffered a lost that cost them the first round, while The Defending Champs The Golden State Warriors took a hit with Stephen Curry but were still focus enough to send The Houston Rockets packing early.

With Curry out for now Golden State is vulnerable but not out yet; judging by their first game onslaught which puts them up 1-0 in the series over The Trail Blazers, it will be up to Portland to figure it out quick and take advantage or be slayed.

The San Antonio Spurs will duke it out with the Young Gunners of Oklahoma City and has I write this write up The Spurs or up 1-0 over The Thunders and their first game was undeniably an exclamation mark type Game. REAL TALK! I’m looking forward to seeing how these series plays out! Tune In and witness the outcome.

NBA Season 2014/2015

The San Antonio Spurs have officially re-entered The NBA Finals Sweepstakes once again by capturing their 5 NBA Championship in a very convincing manner for year 2014. The newly crowned Defending Champs will have their work cut out for them in this upcoming 2014/2015 NBA Season. Attempting to duplicate last years near-perfect NBA Season will most likely be the motivation needed to maintain focus throughout this year NBA Season.

The task at hand will be a struggle and a challenge within itself considering just how strong the West keeps on elevating year after year. With all the trades and injuries occurring throughout the summer and the preseason, the balance of POWER still resides on the WESTSIDE!! REAL TALK!

Last season 7 teams in the West won 50 or more games then the East who only managed to have 2 teams with 50 or more wins. NUFF SAID! With the relocation of LeBron James BACK to Cleveland, the second comeback of a healthy Derrick Rose, a motivated Carmelo Anthony and the surprising rise of The Washington Wizards, The Charlotte Hornets and our own Canadian Team in The Toronto Raptors, I anticipate this years EASTSIDE’s win ratio PCT to improve dramatically.

The injury bug has already hit quite a few teams from the jump. The affected teams will feel the burn of it but injuries aside this NBA Season 2014/2015 will definitely be an interesting season to keep ours eyes and attention on and see who will benefit from all the Hollywood Shuffle that went on during the summer brake.

Tune in this Tuesday, October 28, 2014 for the beginning of another electrifying NBA Season!!

NBA FINALS 2014

The long awaited rematch between The Miami Heat/The San Antonio Spurs is now set. Both teams have a high expectation for them to execute a flawless series but there can only be 1 True winner for that O’Bryan Trophy.

On one side we have The Spurs who were stripped of their Fifth Title by the hand of The 3 Headed Monsters and company at last years Finals. Retribution has been on their mind ever since REAL HEAVY! This Spurs team may be facing Father Time but judging by their play throughout the season (62-20 No. 1 seed) and their convincing run throughout their playoff run to date, one can clearly see that they have probably figure out how to manipulate Father Time to their advantage by surrounding the team with some very good savvy players who play up to their potential to a “T” This well balanced experience team just might have the right tools to slay down The 3 Headed Monsters of The Miami Heat.

With that being said The Defending Back-to-Back Champs The Miami Heat are also looking to cement their name into the Record Books by becoming members of “The Three Peat Club” Love them or Hate them The Heat have established their Championship Level of play and they do rock the “Championship Belt” very well. REAL TALK!

The Heat has improved in every Championship run so for. With only 3 losses under their Belt in this years Playoff run to date, it has been clear that their mental toughness and clutch play has a team has improved dramatically game by game. Slaying The Miami Heat and The 3 Headed Monsters (Wade, James and Bosh) will not be easy but definitely worth the “HYPE” and “ATTENTION” given to see who will be adding their names to this year’s 2014 NBA Records Books, has “King of The Court” of The 2014 NBA Finals Championship!

Tune in this Thursday night June 5, 2014 for Game 1 of the NBA Finals!

2014 NBA Finals Champs!

The San Antonio Spurs have officially slayed The 3 Headed Monsters (Wade, James, Bosh) and The Miami Heat with a 4-1 trashing of the NBA Finals on their Home Court. (Priceless) Redemption was on The Spurs mind from the Time the season started to the last curtain call of the last seconds of NBA Finals Sunday night June 15, 2014.

The Heat may have been The Defending Champs but on that night The Spurs were the aggressors determine to dethrone them and that they did. I tip my “B” hat to The Spurs. Their team play, chemistry and poise in which The Spurs displayed in The NBA Finals Series will forever go down has one of the best “Team” Basketball games ever played.

This Spurs team is the most unselfish team in the league, they deserve this years Championship hands down. If this happens to be their last Championship run then they did the 2013/2014 NBA season justice by winning their 5th NBA title in style, REAL TALK! Congratulation to The San Antonio Spurs 2014 NBA Champion!!

On The Watch “NBA PLAYOFFS 2014”

NBA PLAYOFFS 2014

This NBA season was another roller coaster types season with again some uncontrollable, unaccounted mishaps that we the fans would have never imagined happening through out the year. REAL TALK!

With that being said this years’ ” King Of The Court” for the season is non other then The San Antonio Spurs who finished the season with the Best record of 62-20. This team stayed on path through out the whole season with 1 goal in mind and that’s to undo the wrong of last years NBA Finals and recapture what they feel belonged to them, The O’Bryan Trophy. Their journey will not be an easy one considering how the West is loaded with some serious contenders of their own in the likes of Oklahoma, The Clippers and The Portland Trailblazers without counting out the rest of the teams in the Western Conference gunning for the same goal.

The Eastern Conference’s “Top Dog” goes to The Indiana Pacers with their record of 56-26. The Pacer’s came out the gates in an aggressive fashion but finished the last month of the season with a lack of focus, questionable for a real playoff run? The same goes for The Defending Champs Miami Heat.

Their last month finished was just has shaky and doubtful. Both team showed signs of weakness that will not go unnoticed by neither of the remaining Eastern teams aiming to upset them in their own quest. Some new faces in the Playoffs might just surprise a few team this year but one thing for sure is that this Saturday April 19, 2014 Playoffs First Round will definitely be one for the “Books”. REAL TALK! Tune in!
